Born and raised in Port Elizabeth Putuma’s career started when she arrived in Johannesburg in 2001 with a group from Eastern Cape called Christian Voices which got signed to Sony Music. In 2009, Tiso was discovered by Sipho Sithole and signed to Native Rhythms where she released an afro-jazz album ‘Putuma’ which introduced her to a new audience and saw her shoot to stardom. In 2014 Putuma left Native Rhythms and made a decision to go back to gospel music. She took a two year hiatus from her solo career and went back to a career as a backing vocalist.
In 2016 she started Putuma Productions under which she released her solo gospel album ‘Jesu Dwala’ which won her best female artist at the Independent National Gospel Awards (INGOMA’s). In 2017 she released “Back To The Journey Of Grace” which won her ‘Best Female Artist’ at the 2017 Crown Awards. Artistry Agency was his PR agency in 2017.
