This women’s month, vocal powerhouse Mmatema and SA’s youngest gospel artist Samantha Mundo have joined forces by bringing together their vocal and song-writing abilities to cook up a new gospel single ‘Pray On’. The message behind the song is inspired by a bible verse (Romans 8:28) which sates that in all things God is working it out for our good. The ladies got into studio and prayed for a message which would resonate with the nation and then they put pen to paper to compose the song.

As a 16 year old musician who is juggling school and building a career, Samantha is always excited about working with industry professionals who can help guide her as she lays the foundation for her career. “Being in studio with Mmatema felt like being in studio with an older sister. She guided me through co-writing the song and helped me turn my idea’s into lyrics and melodies.“  says Samantha.

Mmatema and her team produced the song as a part of the Mmatema Moremi Foundation. “Working with Samantha was a dream come true, in a sense that , I have always wanted to work with raw talent, a sponge that is ready to absorb, learn and grow and that is exactly what Samantha is. She is also a perfectionist of note that knows what she wants, I look forward to working with her more.” Says Mmatema

The single is sang in both English and Shona and will be available on all digital platforms on Friday the 5th of August. It will be the 2nd single released from Samantha’s upcoming EP which will feature Mmatema and DJ Tira.
