After receiving two nominations at the 2020 Crown Gospel Music Awards in the Best Worship Song and Best Male Artist Category, Sbu Banda deservedly walked away with one of the most sought after awards of the night – Best Male Gospel Artist of 2020. The Best Male Artist category had gospel greats such as Rev Benjamin Dube; Dumi Mkokstad, Thinah Zungu and Tebogo Moloi also vying for the title however due to the success of his latest album “Pentecost Move Revival”, the popularity of his original compositions “Yebo no Ameni” and “Thou Art The One”, as well as his dedication to excellence with his brand, Sbu Banda was found to be the most deserving winner.

Sbu Banda is a gospel music minister who is affectionately known as ‘The Gospel Dude’ because of his charisma and ‘swag’. His music is powerful and meaningful with a traditional flair that reminds one of a modern version of the South African gospel music we all grew up listening to. His latest offering “Pentecost Move Revival” with the break out single “Yebo no Ameni” has been on high rotation across radio stations all over the country.
